Today is Underdog Day. Underdog stories are some of my favorites. They are a big hit with audiences too. Even the most successful person has challenges. We all think of ourselves as underdogs, which makes them incredibly relatable.
When anyone asks me what movies I worked on, I always say my favorite is Valiant (2005) about the World War II pigeon who is told he is too small for the Air Corps and ends up completing a mission that is integral to D-Day. It had a small release, so I always assume that people haven’t seen it. It has gotten a new life thanks to streaming (currently on Disney+, and for purchase everywhere else.) This morning, I was thrilled when my new trainer told me his kids love it!
One of the blessings of digital content is that it is always available for discovery. So keep creating! You never know when you are getting new fans.
